Admissions

Stanford Humanities Circle is a local enrichment program. Students interested in participating apply each quarter. The application process is selective due to the high demand.

Stanford Humanities Circle

Our ten-week courses run throughout the academic year and offer local students in grades 6–12 the chance to explore the humanities.

Dates & Tuition

We typically offer sessions in Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarter. Each quarter, Stanford Humanities Circle tuition is $350.

Application Deadlines

The application opens two months before the start of the quarter. We recommend joining our mailing list to get an announcement of when the application opens.

Apply Each Term

Although we cannot guarantee re-admission, we invite students to apply again each quarter they wish to participate.

Brilliant Peers

Students learn in a community of peers, thus they must be in the grade level to which they apply.

Admissions Process

The Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies Admission Committee reviews all applications. We request that each student complete the application, not the parent or guardian. There is a high number of applications received and limited space in the classroom.

This program is intended as an exposure and enrichment opportunity for local youth with an interest in the humanities. If you have not participated before, you will be given priority in the review process.

Financial Aid Available

Please note Financial Aid is available. Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies will not exclude students due to financial hardship. Please let us know if the tuition fee presents a financial difficulty for your family.

I was not accepted this quarter. Will you reevaluate your decision?

Given the heavy demand for the limited available space, students are admitted via a lottery, and applications will only be available for a short period of time. If a student is not admitted in a particular quarter, we will not be able to reevaluate our admission decisions.

How can I be notified about the registration opening?
